Aisha earned her Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Manchester, followed by two years of advanced training, including Maxillofacial Senior House Officer position. This hospital-based role gave her the opportunity to manage patients with complex co-morbidities, significantly refining her surgical skills in the process. dedicated to delivering exceptional dental care, Aisha now serves as an associate at West Vale Dental Surgery, where she has built strong, trust-based relationships with both long-standing and new patients.

As a valued member of the practice, Aisha is recognised for her commitment to family dentistry and her meticulous attention to detail. She ensures every patient receives exceptional care and personalised advice in a welcoming and comfortable environment. Aisha excels at helping anxious and nervous patients regain their confidence, offering a compassionate approach that priorities comfort and trust.

Dr Zaheer is a dedicated dental professional who graduated from Plovdiv Medical University. Throughout his studies, he gained comprehensive training across all areas of dentistry, with a particular interest in restorative dentistry and oral surgery. He is passionate about restoring both function and aesthetics, while approaching surgical procedures with precision, care, and attention to patient comfort.

Dr. Zaheer is committed to continuous learning and staying up to date with modern techniques and materials, ensuring his patients receive high-quality, evidence-based dental care in a calm and professional environment.

Outside of dentistry, Dr Zaheer enjoys spending quality time with friends and maintaining an active lifestyle at the gym. He believes that balance, discipline, and wellbeing play an important role in providing the best care to his patients.

Vicki started her career as a trainee dental nurse in 1996 and completes the National Examination for dental nursing in 1997. After qualifying she went to nurse at Leeds Dental Institute. In 1999 went to study further at Leeds Dental institute where she graduated as a Dental hygienist in 2001.

She is a member of the British Society of Dental Hygiene Therapy and enjoys taking part in post graduate education and training.

She has been a hygienist for 15 years and enjoys helping patients to improve and maintain their Oral Health and their cosmetic appearance with teeth whitening.

Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family, eating out and running.

Dr. Naveed Hussain graduated from the University of Leeds with a merit in his integrated master’s and bachelor’s degree in dental surgery with a distinction in his master’s component and research. His research was also published within the European Journal of Prosthodontic and Restorative Dentistry. Dr Naveed completed his foundation training in the competitive London scheme. Following this, he completed a surgical residency in brazil followed by a 2 years master’s degree in dental implantology and graduated with the highest grade of distinction.

‍ ‍He has travelled the world in pursuit of advanced surgical training in both hard and soft tissue and implant training. He has completed his membership in implant dentistry with royal college of surgeons, Edinburgh, as well as passing both the MFDS exams. He is able to provide advanced surgical treatments such as sinus lifts, advanced hard and soft tissue regeneration, and full-mouth implant-supported rehabilitation treatments.

Dr Naveed has also completed training in completed training in conscious sedation at University of Newcastle.

He can provide treatment under sedation to optimise patient comfort and patient experiences. Currently, he works across multiple practices in Yorkshire, providing oral surgery, implant, and sedation services (for nervous and anxious patients). Dr Naveed provides himself in carrying out high quality, long lasting and life changing treatment for his patients in a calm and relaxing manner.

In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with friends, family, and travelling.

Naveed Saleem, the principal dentist at west vale dental surgery and Birkby dental care 

Dr Saleem is our longest serving dentist, and is now in his 20th year providing general dentistry to our patients. Having trained and mentored many young dentists and team members he thoroughly enjoys his job and treating the patients he sees. 

He is very passionate about dentistry and offers a very personal and caring approach to all his patients. Naveed, born in Huddersfield a true Yorkshire men, qualified from the university of Sheffield in 2006, and has worked in general practice ever since. 

His down to earth, professional and methodical personality allows him to get on well with his patients and puts nervous patients at ease. 

Naveed enjoys all aspects of dentistry and has increased his experience and clinical skills by attending and participating in courses given by renowned experts. He has a keen interest in general dentistry , teeth straightening, cosmetic makeovers, smile design and treating nervous patients.

Despite leading a very busy life running and managing the practice, Naveed's family is incredibly important to him and he loves spending time with his wife and three children. In his spare time he enjoys going out with is family for walks, gardening, keeping koi Carp and socialising with friends.

Dr Nasar Mahmood

Dr Mahmood graduated from the prestigious University of Debrecen in 2012 with a Doctorate of Medical Dentistry (DMD). He prides himself on delivering meticulous patient care and high-quality dentistry. His clinical practice spans routine examinations and fillings through to more technique-sensitive procedures such as aesthetic composite restorations, veneers, orthodontics, and minor oral surgery. He has travelled extensively to attend advanced courses led by respected clinicians across the UK to continually enhance his skills.

In 2017, he was a finalist for “Young Dentist of the Year” within the UK’s largest dental corporate, having achieved exceptional patient feedback (99%+, 5-star rating from over 200 patients) and strong endorsements from senior colleagues. Dr Mahmood is also particularly experienced in treating nervous and phobic patients. His undergraduate thesis explored Dental Fear, and he has lectured widely on this topic.

During his Senior House Officer post in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, he gained extensive experience treating patients in a hospital environment, including work under general anaesthesia, inhalation sedation, IV sedation, and local anaesthetic. His on-call duties involved close collaboration with neighbouring A&E departments, managing a wide spectrum of emergencies—from facial lacerations and acute infections to fractured jaws and dog bites. He completed the post with an outstanding recommendation recognising his calmness and high standard of care in demanding situations. During this time, he also contributed reflective articles to the British Dental Journal.

Dr Mahmood is a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons, having successfully passed the MJDF examination. He has completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Restorative Implant Dentistry, further strengthening his skills in advanced restorative and implant care, as well as a Postgraduate Certificate in Orthodontics. He spent several years working under an experienced Orthodontic Specialist, providing a wide range of orthodontic treatments and gaining valuable expertise in both routine and complex cases.

He also became a Member of the Academy of Medical Educators (MAcadMEd), after successfully completing the accredited medical education course at the University of Central Lancashire—a reflection of his ongoing commitment to teaching, mentorship, and contributing to the development of future clinicians.
